There is a small trial involving study of the effects of green tea cream in rosacea patients, the abstract details of the trial were presented during the year 2005 at the annual session of American Academy of Dermatology.
The study reported involving 60 women within the age group of 25 years to 50 years suffering from rosacea, all of them presented with red bumps along with pustules. 50% of these patients were put on treatment with Green Tea cream containing 2% of polyphenone as an active ingredient. The remaining 50% trial group used a placebo cream. 
The duration of the trial was 28 days. There was evidence in support of substantially apparent beneficial effects of green tea cream with marked reduction in red bump numbers as well as of pustules in rosacea patients.
